THE UMOJI PROSPERITY STRATEGY
UMOJI FINANCIAL LITERACY INITIATIVE
Statement of Intent: UMOJI Financial Literacy Initiative with World Financial Group Date: May 31, 2025 Purpose UMOJI is committed to empowering adults reentering society after incarceration by providing holistic support—addressing not only housing, employment, and wellness, but also the critical area of financial literacy. As part of our mission to promote sustainable reintegration and generational wealth, UMOJI seeks to partner with World Financial Group (WFG) to integrate their industry-leading financial wellness tools, assessments, and educational resources into our program offerings. Background Financial instability is one of the greatest barriers facing formerly incarcerated individuals. Without access to practical, actionable financial education and ongoing support, many struggle with budgeting, saving, managing debt, and planning for the future. UMOJI’s Financial Literacy Initiative is designed to close this gap by providing evidence-based, actionable, and compassionate financial education as a foundation for long-term success. Partnership Overview UMOJI proposes to collaborate with World Financial Group to: Adopt WFG’s Financial Wellness Assessment Model: UMOJI will utilize WFG’s financial wellness checks and assessment tools as a standard part of our intake and ongoing support process. This will help participants identify their current financial status, strengths, and areas for growth. Integrate WFG Educational Resources: WFG’s workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching will be offered to UMOJI participants, providing practical knowledge on topics such as budgeting, debt management, insurance, investment basics, retirement planning, and wealth-building strategies. Holistic Financial Wellness Approach: The WFG model aligns with UMOJI’s holistic philosophy—addressing financial health as an essential component of overall well-being. By incorporating financial wellness checks alongside our existing wellness programs, we ensure participants receive comprehensive support for mind, body, and finances. Foundation for Financial Liberation: Together, UMOJI and WFG will empower individuals to move from financial crisis to financial stability, and ultimately to financial growth. Our shared goal is to give every participant the tools and confidence needed to achieve generational wealth and break cycles of poverty. Implementation WFG representatives will provide initial and periodic financial wellness assessments for all UMOJI participants. UMOJI will offer ongoing financial literacy classes, bootcamps, and workshops based on the WFG curriculum. Participants will have access to WFG’s network of financial professionals for individualized coaching and support. UMOJI will track participant progress, using WFG’s assessment metrics and feedback to continually improve program effectiveness. Commitment UMOJI is dedicated to maintaining the privacy and dignity of all participants. All financial assessments and coaching will be conducted in accordance with our strict privacy policies and in partnership with trusted WFG professionals. Conclusion Through this partnership, UMOJI and World Financial Group will set a new standard for financial literacy and wellness among reentering citizens. By combining UMOJI’s community-driven support model with WFG’s proven financial education resources, we will create lasting, transformative impact for individuals, families, and communities.
